The Aptitude Test for School Beginners is a standardized test to see if your child is cognitively ready for the leap from Grade R to Grade 1. Are they ready to make the shift from concrete to more abstract (numbers and symbols)?

Find out for sure with a school readiness assessment and we’ll show you how they can excel from their very first day.

“Can I do these things?

Can I spot when pictures are different and when they’re the same? That means I can learn to read and write words.

Do I know what the picture is no matter which way you turn it around? That’s important for learning my numbers and counting.

Can I the pick out the picture that’s different from the others? That means I can understand questions and give good answers.

Can I count things in pictures or understand how big they are? That shows I can understand what teacher says, what she means and listen hard when she talks.

Can I copy a picture so that mine looks the same? That means I can pay attention in class, keep thinking about what I’m doing, and know when things are different – even when they look the same.

Can I draw between two lines without going over them? That means I can control my hands properly so I can write well.

Can I remember the pictures I’ve already seen from the ones I haven’t? That means I can remember things without being told to – and I’m going to need that one a lot in school.

Can I listen to a story about a picture and then point out the right picture when I see it? That means I’m going to learn to talk just fine
